Essa semana, a nossa viagem pela primavera da vida humana continua com uma obra chave do cinema novo checoslovaco, Valerie a týden divů (Valerie e Sua Semana de Deslumbramentos) de Jaromil Jireš baseado no romance do mesmo nome do escritor surrealista Vítězslav Nezval. Misturando elementos de soft porn, conta de fadas, terror e usando uma linguagem de imagens e sons fantasmagóricos e surrealistas, o filme oscila entre Freud e fantasia, entre grande estilo e kitsch absoluto, resultando numa viagem bucólica e macabra, que se grava na cabeça como um pesadelo doce da adolescência de Valerie se desabrochando ansiosamente. Como a pornochanchada no Brasil durante a ditadura militar, as referências sexuais foram usadas para transmitir conteúdos proibidos no regime de repressão dos países da Cortina de Ferro. A sessão desta quarta abre com uma delícia sonhadora: Ёжик в тумане (Ouricinho no Nevoeiro) de Yuri Norstein, um clássico que foi elogiado como o melhor desenho animado "de todas as épocas e povos", contando a storia do ouricinho andando pela floresta noturna indo visitar seu amigo, o ursinho, para tomar chá assistindo as estrelas… Seja bem-vinde numa noite de epifania de brega, de desejos e de devaneios …



This week, our journey along the spring of human life continues with a key work of Czechoslovak New Cinema: Jaromil Jireš's Valerie a týden divů (Valerie and Her Week of Wonders) based on the novel of the same name by the surrealist writer Vítězslav Nezval. Mixing elements of soft porn, fairytale, horror and using a language of ghostly and surrealistic images and sounds, the film swings between Freud and fantasy, between high style and total kitsch, resulting in a bucolic and macabre journey that engraves itself in the head like a sweet nightmare of Valerie's adolescence blooming anxiously. Like pornochanchadain Brazil during the military dictatorship, sexual references were used to convey content banned under the repression regime of the countries behind the Iron Curtain. This Wednesday's session opens with a dreamy delight: Yuri Norstein's вжик в тумане (Hedgehog in the Fog), a classic that has been praised as the best cartoon "of all times and peoples", telling the story of a little hedgehog walking through the night forest to visit his friend, the little bear, to have a tea watching the stars… Welcome to a night of epiphany of trash, desires and daydreams…
